Gary Christelis

Partner
Alongside his work at Stratevise, Mr. Christelis is a commercial transactional attorney with a leading boutique corporate law firm in Boston, Massachusetts working with high-tech startups and early stage companies. He also actively serves as senior advisor to a number of startups in Boston and New York, with a focus on materials science, software, international shipping and logistics, consumer products, cybersecurity, and identity solution companies.

He began his career as an international commercial transactional attorney at major law firms in Boston and New York, before joining his client, GET Group, a world leader of passport and identity solutions, as Vice President and General Counsel. He became President and CEO of GET Group’s Passport & ID Division in 2005, significantly building the group’s international operations, project portfolio, and profitability. He left in 2011 to form Stratevise to make investments in and support early-stage companies.

Mr. Christelis has lived and worked in Europe and the USA. He is a graduate of Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and New York Law School (NY, NY), and is admitted to the bars of Massachusetts and New York. He is also on the boards of trustees of two nonprofit organizations: The Wayside Inn Foundation, which manages and operates a national historic site in Sudbury, Massachusetts, and Danforth Art Alliance, Inc., which supports Danforth Art Museum & School at Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts.

In addition to her work at Stratevise, Ms. Schlaeppi is as independent public company director and advisory board member in the US and Europe.

She currently serves on the board of AstroNova, Inc., an industrial company applying data visualization technologies to products for the aerospace, defense, product ID and packaging industries (NASDAQ: ALOT), and on an advisory board at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.  From 2016 through its going private in 2019, Ms. Schlaeppi served on the board of Stallergenes Greer plc, a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in London, UK (Euronext Paris: STAGR).  She was an independent director on the board of Greer Laboratories, Inc. when it was within the portfolio of the Ares Life Sciences (London) fund.

Ms. Schlaeppi has been an international lawyer, senior corporate executive and global business strategist for 30+ years.  Prior to founding Stratevise with her partners, she was General Counsel at three global groups: Organon BioSciences (pharmaceuticals, animal health and biotech with US$ 5B+ global sales); Global Enterprise Technologies Passport & ID (security credentialing); and European general counsel at Johnson Controls (Fortune 100 industrial with US$ 4B+ European sales).  She was also Partner and Chair of the International Practice Group at the law firm, Palmer & Dodge in Boston.

Ms. Schlaeppi has been responsible for substantial M&A campaigns, as well as managing legal and intellectual property for international operations throughout the US, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the CIS, while living and working in Europe and the US.   She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University.  Ms. Schlaeppi is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Governance Fellow (2017 – present).

Rida Baalbaki

Mr. Baalbaki is a dynamic and results-driven entrepreneur with over 25 years of international business experience in multiple industries.

He embarked on a career in the field of computer technology right after graduation from the American University of Cairo, Egypt and Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco holding a bachelor of Arts.

Mr. Baalbaki shifted later to FMCG then services companies and moved up the ranks to become the youngest head of department managing 250 employees at the age of 25.

Prior to Stratevise LLC’s launch in 2011 and forming the SELECT International group in 2012 with his partners, for six years Mr. Baalbaki was Director of International Sales and Business Development at GET Group’s Passport & ID Division, USA.

He currently serves on the board of Chloride Egypt’s the subsidiary of Ynna Holding (Chaabi Group) which is specialized in batteries manufacturing and energy solutions. Since June 2014, Mr. Baalbaki has served on the committee charged with directing the group’s business in Europe and Middle East. His role on that committee is to oversee evaluation of investments, setting up green-fields, corporate strategies, planning and development.

In addition, as a co-founder of SELECT International, Mr. Baalbaki acts as the group Executive Vice President supervising the affiliated companies as they provide advanced series of IT systems and services in Data and Artificial Intelligence area. The group partners with leading global technology vendors such as IBM and DELL to offer multiplatform expertise for a full range of hardware, software and services.
